Creating manpower requests is an efficient way to let your team know that you need another resource on a particular project. When you're not sure exactly which resource you need, or you don't have the permission level to create assignments, then manpower requests are the way to go.

Creating manpower requests for future dates are also beneficial in forecasting the cost for projects and manpower.

This article will provide instructions on making manpower requests in each available location in LaborChart.

The Boards Page

  • Begin by locating your desired project, and click the 3 Dots located at the right-end of the project name.
  • Select Create Request from the dropdown.

  • Within the Request modal, enter the necessary details, such as start/end times and dates, and the preferred Tags of the person filling the request.
  • If the request does not require a specific Job Title, you can leave that section blank to create a generic request.
  • Scope of Work (optional): Whatever is typed here will populate into the assignment alert that is created upon filling the request.
  • Assignment Instructions  (optional): Will also be populated into the assignment alert.
  • Comments (optional): Will not be included in alerts. Only users given the permission to view comments will be able to see them.

The open manpower requests for each project are displayed within the blue request field.

The Gantt Page

Creating a manpower request from the Gantt page is as simple as creating from the Boards page.

Upon clicking Save the modal will close and the Requests entered will appear at the bottom of each project under the blue Request Bar, as shown below.

The Requests Page

Creating a request from the Requests page involves a nearly identical process to the rest of the platform. The only difference is, you will begin creating the request before you select the project.

  • Begin by clicking the orange NEW button in the top-left corner of the page.
  • This will bring up the Request modal, and the rest of the process is exactly the same.
